Michael B. Liebowitz, MD

Michael B. Liebowitz, MD is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University, NY; Director of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Managing Director of the Medical Research Network. Dr. Liebowitz is recognized as one of the world's leading researchers in the field of anxiety disorders. He assists us with the clinical development of our anxiety program.

Dr. Brad Katz

Dr. Katz is a professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the John A Moran Eye Center, University of Utah Health Sciences Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He holds adjunct appointments in the University’s Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery.

In addition to the clinical and surgical care of patients, Dr. Katz is responsible for training medical students, residents, and fellows.

Dr. Katz’s primary research interests include photophobia (abnormal light sensitivity) and diseases associated with photophobia, primarily migraine. Dr. Katz has published and lectured widely on these subjects, including an invited review that appeared in the prestigious journal, Survey of Ophthalmology. Dr. Katz holds two patents regarding the use of optical and nanoparticle filters for the treatment of light sensitivity.

In addition to his role at Pherin, Dr. Katz is CEO of Axon Optics, LLC, a company that develops, manufactures, and sells eyewear for the treatment of photophobia associated with migraine and other light-sensitive conditions.


Rita Hanover, Ph.D. is a Healthcare Analyst with years of experience in clinical trials. Dr. Hanover obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Utah and is currently associated with HealthInsight. She assists with our clinical development program in all aspects related to statistical analysis.

José Vicente Díaz-Sánchez, MD, PhD

José Vicente Díaz-Sánchez, MD, Ph.D. has held the position of coordinator of the pharmacokinetics unit and the infertility unit at the National Institute of Nutrition, Department of Biology and Reproduction, in Mexico City. He has lectured and published extensively in the fields of endocrinology and contraception. The World Health Organization recently honored him for his collaborations on human reproduction. Dr. Díaz-Sánchez studies the effects of pherines on the endocrine system.
